National Forest Recreation ePass

Northwest Forest Recreation ePass

Once purchased from our website, an ePass can be printed and displayed on the dash of your vehicle. The ePass covers one day (until midnight of the date specified) for the use of recreation facilities at Forest Service sites in Washington and Oregon only. Camping and other special-use permits, licenses, and fees are additional. Please click here for more information.

The ePass must be printed out ahead of time and displayed in your vehicle according to USDA Forest Service regulations. Forgot to pay? We recommend contacting the nearest Forest Service office.

You do not need an ePass if you have the America the Beautiful Pass or an Annual Northwest Forest Pass.

The National Forest Recreation Day Pass is a physical version of the ePass and is mailed to the recipient.

If you are not sure where you will be using this ePass, please use your best judgment and select the National Forest or Scenic Area of your choice. You can also use this Pacific Northwest Forest Areas map for reference.

Yes. Please purchase an ePass for each day you plan to be at the recreation site and display all ePasses in the dash of your vehicle. Please note camping fees are additional and not covered by the ePass.

No. You may use a single ePass for more than one location as long as the locations are being visited on the date indicated on the ePass.

You can type in “RENTAL” in the license plate field and select the state location of the forest you are visiting.

We do not issue refunds for ePasses nor can we alter information on an ePass once it has been electronically generated. In most cases you will need to purchase a new ePass. Please note that according to Forest Service regulations, any attempt to alter the ePass will make it invalid.

ePasses are non-refundable and dates on ePasses cannot be changed. If you still need an ePass for a different date, you will need to purchase a new ePass.

We ask that visitors do their research ahead of time to ensure they are aware of conditions before they travel. If information has been provided on the U.S. Forest Service website pertaining to the closed trail area or weather conditions, you may not receive a refund.

In the event that an ePass is not received, fails to print, or does not display through the hyperlink sent through email, please contact customer service.

In this case, we recommend purchasing the National Forest Recreation Day Pass or the Annual Northwest Forest Pass. Both passes are physical passes we send through mail. If ordering from our online store, please allow 2 - 7 business days before arrival depending on the shipping option selected.

One free decal may be obtained from Forest Service offices for valid Annual Northwest Forest Pass holders only.

Please check with the Forest Service ranger district office for the area you visited for instructions on how to pay. For locations and contact information, please click here.

Recreation fee revenues make a difference. The Forest Service would like to know where you are likely to use this ePass so they can make sure that the National Forest or Scenic Area you visit receives the funds needed to maintain the sites and facilities you use.
