Product Details

Smokey Bear came to life as a national symbol in forest fire prevention posters over 50 years ago. In 1950, a badly burned cub was found clinging to a tree after a fire devastated Lincoln National Forest in New Mexico. The cub was nursed back to health and named "Smokey" after the original poster bear. Although there isn't a living symbol of Smokey Bear now, a continuing nationwide forest fire prevention campaign continues today. This patch features Smokey amidst mountains, a lake, trees, and wildlife.
Features: Embroidered. 3 x 3.75 in.
