Located in Northern California, Shasta-Trinity National Forest includes 5 wilderness areas, hundreds of mountain lakes, and many miles of streams and rivers. Some major features of the forest are Mount Shasta (the second highest peak in the Cascades) and Shasta Lake, the largest man-made lake in California. With over 460 miles of trails including a 154-mile portion of the Pacific Crest Trail, hiking, camping, and mountain climbing are some of many recreational activities available to visitors.
