Product Details
Baseball and softball played an important part for Japanese Nikkei (Americans citizens and legal resident aliens) who were incarcerated at Minidoka War Relocation Center from 1943-1945. Many camp residents - youth, adults, male and female - played baseball or softball on one of 14 fields throughout the camp. This one-of-a-kind Minidoka softball is a tribute to the sport that offered Japanese Nikkei an escape and sanctuary for their everyday lives at Minidoka. Featuring interpretive text commemorating this sport, the Minidoka softball is a unique memento of a difficult time in U.S. history.
Features: 3.8 inches in diameter.
