About Lake Roosevelt:

In 1941, the Grand Coulee Dam was built on the Columbia River as part of the Columbia River Basin Project, creating the 130-mile Lake Roosevelt. The largest lake and reservoir in Washington state, Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area includes 22 boat launches, 10 swim beaches, 27 campgrounds, and historical sites at the Fort Spokane Visitor Center and St. Paul's Mission.
