On the south shores of Paulina Lake in the Newberry National Volcanic Monument lie four historic cabins constructed by the Bend Chapter of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) during the 1930s. These cabins represent the last remnants of the IOOF organizational camp which was listed as a district to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
It is the intent of the Deschutes National Forest to pursue restoration, interpretation and opportunity for occupancy as recreation rentals of these unique historic cabins. We are taking this opportunity to invite individuals and organizations to express interest in keeping these historic treasures alive and serving our community in the near future. Thanks for your support!
