The UNESCO Cascade Head Biosphere Reserve is a 102,110 acre site straddling Earth's 45th parallel on the central Oregon Coast. Home to a rare and diverse ecosystem including the Salmon River and its estuary, a sandy littoral spit, a temperate rainforest, a basalt headland covered in native coastal prairie, and a marine reserve stretching three nautical miles west into the waters of the Pacific. Cascade Head is Oregon's only remaining Biosphere Reserve following reauthorization in 2017, and is home to a prolific diversity of wildlife including: Black Bear, Cougar, Elk, Osprey, Bald Eagle, Peregrine Falcon, five species of Salmon, Grey and Humpback Whales. Additionally it is a biological refuge for four federally listed endangered species: The Spotted owl, Marbled Murrelet, Coho Salmon, and Oregon Silverspot Butterfly.

This unique land / sea connection is protected and managed by a dynamic community of agencies, non-profits, businesses, and residents in the surrounding communities of Lincoln City, Neotsu, and Otis. Your donation supports our unique "Wild Edge of the Continent" environmental education, events, workshops, and community science programming in which we are creating long-term stewardship of this internationally recognized biological gem.
