The North Bend Ranger District, within the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, encompasses 360,000 acres of public and private land, including 80,000 acres of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area. There are over 100 lakes, with trail access to many of them. The Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail winds in and out of the district on its way from Mexico to Canada. There are a variety of opportunities for summer and winter recreationists, including trails, campgrounds, picnic areas, scenic drives, and more. This guide includes detailed maps and descriptions of trails, camping and picnic grounds, and scenic areas.
