The Forest Supervisor of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest is responsible for management of the Mount Adams Wilderness, the Indian Heaven Wilderness and the Trapper Creek Wilderness under the authority of the Wilderness Act of 1964. The Act tells us these areas are "where the earth and its community of life are untrammeled by man, where man himself is a visitor who does not remain."
