Product Details

Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument (Idaho) and Sibiloi National Park (Kenya) are now sister parks! This historic event marks the first sister park arrangement between a U.S. national park and an African park. National Park Service sister parks can be found in at least 23 other countries, including Mexico, Chile, and China.

One of the programs of sharing between these parks is related to the college-accredited Koobi Fora Field School, operated by the National Museums of Kenya and George Washington University. This international field school is taught by a research team of world-renown scientists and is an excellent opportunity for students of paleontology, geology, and archaeology to gain experience in their fields of study. The sale of these reusable shopping bags will help to fund a scholarship for an East African student to attend the Koobi Fora Field School. Many East African alumni of this field school have gone on to receive their PhD's and can be found today working at top universities and museums in the U.S. and abroad. Show your support of science education with this reusable shopping bag! These bags are hand-washable, can hold up to 40 pounds, and easily fit in your pocket, purse, or carry-on.
